Sammy Davies, pastor of Ammanford Evangelical Church, has been the first church leader to register a group from his church to attend the Equip conference in September.
The conference, which is bringing Christians from across Wales – and further afield, will be supporting God’s people to share the gospel in their communities.
“Successful churches aren’t led by an individual, but by a team of people working together,” said Sammy. “It is vital that all those are involved in church can spend time learning and applying that learning too.”
“We are looking forward to Equip for a chance to think, pray and plan for what God has called us to do. I’m sure the main sessions will give us plenty to talk about and we will be equipped through the seminars which are focussing on specific ministry areas.”
Equip 2017 is taking place on Friday 15 to Saturday 16 September at the Christchurch Centre in Newport.
Chris Street, a member of the Wales Leadership Forum, which is organising the conference said: “It is so encouraging to see churches taking up the opportunity to build new relationships with God’s people to support one another in sharing the gospel lovingly, confidently and persuasively.”
Further details about bringing a group from your church are available online. “We know that Sammy and his church will be the first of many groups joining us in September,” said Chris. “So, do start planning to bring people from your church today.”
