Understanding and Reaching Culture with the Gospel

EQUIP 2026

Jesus said, “From the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks”.

In other words, what we love, we share. At EQUIP 2026 we’ll dwell on Christ’s ever-relevant gospel so that hearts are filled and words may flow. We’ll consider what resonates in our cultural moment, what confronts us, and how both are necessary in proclaiming Christ today.

Whether you’re serving God through youth work, a luncheon club, leading worship, pastoral work, Sunday school, preaching and teaching – or seeking to make a difference where God has placed you in your work and community, the EQUIP 2026 conference is for you!

Our theme in 2026 is “Understanding and Reaching Culture with the Gospel”. What can we do as individuals and in our churches to help us to share the Good News of Jesus with the people we meet, in the places where we live, work and play?

This year we’re excited to invite Glen Scrivener and Jonathan Thomas as our keynote speakers. Both these men of God have established ministries as authors and communicators, seeking to encourage and equip God’s people to speak Jesus into the cultures and communities in which we find ourselves.

It will also be great to have Professor John Lennox joining us at our Saturday event. John has written and debated extensively on the interface between science, philosophy and theology – all of which form key aspects of Welsh culture today.

Book your place at the conference below, and please encourage others in your church to join you. We look forward to seeing you at EQUIP 2026!

  • Friday 12:30-2:30pm – 25th September – Waterfront Community Church, Swansea

“Where are we now?” – Perspectives on the state of Mission in Wales. Join us on a journey this lunchtime with Jonathan Thomas, Pastor and broadcaster.

“Speaking Life in a Post-Christian Age”Glen Scrivener will help us think about ways to speak Jesus into a culture that has seemingly walked away from the Christian church.

  • Friday 7-9:30pm – 25th September – OM Logos Hope, Cardiff Bay

“Three mile an hour evangelism!”Jonathan Thomas explores how to share the Gospel effectively and personally.

“Speaking Life in the Everyday” – In this second session, Glen Scrivener looks at how we can bring Jesus with us in our day-to-day lives.

  • Saturday Morning – 26th September – Glenwood Church, Cardiff

At our Saturday morning event, Glen Scrivener will be joined by Professor John Lennox as we continue to think about ways of reaching our neighbours and communities more effectively with the Gospel. Glen will be leading two sessions, ‘Speaking Life: How to Strike a Chord’ and ‘Speaking Life: How to Hit a Nerve’, and we look forward to John bringing us ‘Reasons for hope! Lessons from a life engaging the big issues of faith, science and culture’.

Alongside our keynote speakers, we’ll have the opportunity to breakout into network streams that will allow us to focus on those areas of ministry that best suit our roles and gifting in the church, and we’ll also hear the latest news from the Wales Leadership Forum on the projects and programmes taking place in Wales.

  • Thursday Evening – 1st October – Thornhill Church, Cardiff

“Jesus Meets Us On The Journey” – An evening event especially for women, with Alison Williams and Lois Adams. Places at the event will cost £10, but the event will also be streamed online.

Places at the Friday and Saturday sessions are free, but please consider making a donation to help us to cover our speaker, refreshment and hire costs.
