Paul Edwards is married to Lisa and has three children. Originally a Tredegar boy, he studied and lived in Cardiff, where he first got involved with the Navigators, and was a Chemistry teacher for 14 years. After moving back to the valleys, Paul and Lisa became part of Hope Church Merthyr. They have led small community groups since 2010, helping others in growing to maturity as disciples of Jesus. Paul has been part of the leadership of Hope for the last 9 years, pastoring since 2013, and also teaches science two days a week.

Andy Pitt has recently become the Pastor of Emmanuel Evangelical Church, Newport after serving as a Pastor in Merthyr Tydfil for eighteen years. He is married to Viv and is passionate about sharing the Gospel with his community in a variety of ways, Andy is also a trustee of the Wales Leadership Forum.

John Funnell is married to Harriet and has four children. He is Pastor of Noddfa Church Abersychan (Welsh Valleys), Boxing Chaplain for Sports Chaplaincy UK and sits on the editorial board for the Evangelical Magazine.

Paul Davies is an Evangelist with Counties UK working with local Schools (Primary & Secondary) as well as leading and equipping the local Church through mission to reach the generations. During lockdown, Paul has been developing ‘StoryTime’ Youtube series as well as an evangelistic podcast – Legacy Tales. Paul is also an Elder at Waterfront Community Church, Swansea.

Nay Dawson works for IFES as the Regional Training Co-ordinator. Jon is an Associate Research Professor within Medicine at the University of Southampton. Together they have 15 years experience of writing and leading Evangelistic Bible studies.

Geoff Cresswell
Geoff Cresswell

Geoff Cresswell is an elder at Highfields Church, Cardiff. He mentors pastors in leadership and delivers training on biblical leadership. He also mentors headteachers and runs a wellbeing course involving over 200 headteachers from across Wales.

Jay Eastman has served in education, community development, church planting, international project supervision and consulting. Jay also contributes to professional and organizational development needs for non-profit groups and businesses.

John Perry
John Perry

John Perry is the UCCF Assistant Team Leader for Wales and the Staff Worker for North Wales. He was brought up as a missionary kid in Indonesia, Malaysia and India, so is not exactly a Welsh native! Rather than attempt to work out where his home is on this Earth, John prefers to rejoice in the fact that our true citizenship is heaven. This solves the problem of having split loyalties when the Six Nations rugby tournament comes round – he likes to see everyone win (apart from France).

Meirion Thomas has been the pastor at Malpas Road Evangelical Church, Newport for 21 years. Before that he was at Noddfa Evangelical Church, Pontarddulais for 12 years. He was a staff worker with UCCF in Wales from 1980 – 1984. He is married to Ceri and they have 3 married children and on the last count 9 grandchildren.
